When the drug was banned in US in November 2010 – and EU countries also banned the substance - India became the largest consumer. In 2009 India consumed 123 431 kg, it was 47,1% of the world-consumption – according to consumption figures from INCB – The International Narcotics Control Board in Vienna. In 2010 India consumed 134 766 kg, 62,4% and in 2011 – the first year without consumption in US – India consumed 129 886 kg – and that was 91,7% of the world-consumption, which was 141 639 kg.
The day before yesterday there were some 50 companies that were selling DXP – around 100 brands - and yesterday the drug was also banned in India, and lives would be saved.
